An Industry Award is a piece of training that has been developed by an employer in-house or by a private training provider, that is fully mapped to the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS) to ensure an industry benchmark is met, but in addition allows you the autonomy to add more contextualised content to the course and assessment – a huge benefit when developing your universal selling point to learners.
PD:Approval will provide each successful learner with a secure electronic Certificate of Achievement, that has a unique certificate number and a QR Code for anti fraud purposes. Registration of learners is mandatory for Industry Awards and you will be provided with your own login details to the Learner Registration area on approval..

Industry Award
The main outcome of Industry Award endorsement is to be able to create a programme that suits the requirements of either you as an training provider or employer, or your learners. Your industry award will be recognised by industry whilst it continues to be endorsed, and learners who are certificated during the endorsement period will be qualified according to the programme they have achieved.
Accredited endorsement is for providers delivering qualifications via an Awarding Organisation who are externally quality assured by that Awarding Organisation. Only qualifications that are listed on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and have a mandatory assessment can be included in the endorsement.
Please note: If you are offering 100% online qualifications where your Awarding Organisation stipulates a practical assessment there may be additional criteria to include them in your endorsement. For instance, the minimum requirements for Health and Fitness qualifications are:
- Either, at least one full day workshop to deliver the practical element of the qualification and an observed assessment.
- Or, 20 hours’ work experience with a qualified professional in a gym setting with a portfolio of evidence signed off by the gym manager, verified at each stage by the training provider.
All those responsible for the qualification delivery must be suitably qualified and tutors, assessors and the internal quality assurer must hold the relevant qualifications suitable for those roles. PD:Approval will also request the Awarding Organisation external quality assurance report for approval purposes; providers with a Medium or High Risk status will not be eligible for endorsement.
Training providers with a Medium/High risk status can apply for endorsement once they have met their Awarding Organisation’s requirements and are rated as Low Risk.
